About Ms. Lavelle
- Ms. Lavelle (prounced lah-VELL, not lah-VELLie or LAHva-LAY) has been teaching for more than 18 years and now she is incredibly excited to be YOUR Language and Literature teacher.
- Ms. Lavelle grew up outside Boston, Massachusetts and officially moved to Florida in 2004 (the year of so many hurricanes).
- Ms. Lavelle went to school to study writing and holds degrees from Eckerd College and Emerson college (and is clearly partial to the letter "E").
- Ms. Lavelle is known as "Mom" to three kids: Georgia (14), Jane (11) and Teddy (9). She also has a pretty great husband. Her dogs are absolutely AMAZING. Their names are Keller and Larry and they're the ones in the picture above. Keller is a two-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever and Larry is a four-month-old Brittany Spaniel. (Beware: Ms. Lavelle is seriously obsessed with her dogs. Be prepared to hear stories. Lots of them.)
- Ms. Lavelle loves coffee, running, music and words (and speaking in the third person). Her most recent favorite book is The Nickle Boys by a brilliant writer named Colson Whitehead.
